Education
Master of Sustainability Science
The University of Tokyo, 2020
Enzo obtained his master’s degree in Sustainability Science from the Graduate Program in Sustainability Science – Global Leadership Initiative (GPSS-GLI) of the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Frontier Sciences. Through his two-year study under full scholarship from the Japanese Government, he was exposed to the transdisciplinary nature of sustainability and explored the impacts of power interruptions on the quality of life of residents of his home province, Albay, Philippines. His thesis was selected as the best thesis in his cohort, which was also a basis for him being chosen for the annual Dean’s Award for Outstanding Achievement. Aside from taking lectures and doing research, he was also fortunate to have done fieldwork in Kashiwanoha Smart City in Chiba, Shinchi Smart Community in Fukushima, and in Malmö, Sweden for the Equitable and Efficient Mobility Project.
The courses he took also qualified him to receive the Joint Education Program Certificate in Sustainability Science from the Sustainability Science Consortium.

Certificate in New Ventures Leadership
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 2018
Enzo earned his Certificate in New Ventures Leadership upon completing the MIT Innovation and Entrepreneurship Bootcamp hosted at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Brisbane, Australia in February 2018. It was a selective and intense program that consisted of core online courses in Entrepreneurship and User Innovation, a three-day immersion at the Great Barrier Reef’s Lady Elliott Island, and a week of onsite rigorous “drinking from a firehose” training and experience on MIT’s Disciplined Entrepreneurship framework for innovation-driven enterprises, among others. Participants from 39 countries directly applied their learnings by developing plans for sustainable new ventures, which were pitched on the final day of the Bootcamp (i.e., Demo Day). Enzo raised his tuition for the program through a successful crowdfunding campaign.

Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering
Ateneo de Manila University, 2014
Enzo received his bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the Ateneo de Manila University and was a recipient of a full scholarship from the Ateneo Alumni Scholars Association (AASA), in addition to having been awarded the Vice President Noli de Castro – Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Study Grant and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Merit Scholarship. A highlight of his five-year study at the university was his and his teammate’s (Alyssa Vintola) win at Schneider Electric’s Go Green in the City Global Case Challenge in 2013. Their work on energy harvesting and monitoring served as basis for their undergraduate thesis. He was an active student leader, having held leadership positions in the resident students’ association and the student council, undergone Reserved Officers Training Corps (ROTC) military training, and been a student facilitator for a freshman introductory course. He also worked part-time as a student assistant.
He passed the Licensure Examination for Electronics Engineers in the same year.
